About
As a little guy in Kansas, my family would vacation in Colorado every summer. I dreamed that someday I would live in the mountains. In 1985, my wife, Hermine, and I decided it was time to chase the dream. We sold everything, loaded a U-Haul with what was left and headed west to the Rockies. In 2003 we built our log home on the side of a mountain across the valley from Pike Peak
It is such a gift to see Pikes Peak every morning. How blessed I feel that I work at what I love, live with the girl of my dreams, and see the Rocky Mountains every day.
My Studio
A great way to start the day. This is the same place where I played as a boy on vacation. So, now when I see kids racing their home made boats down the stream, I am taken back to the time when my brothers and I did the same; Mom and Dad grilling fresh caught trout on the patio and everything in life felt perfect.

When i received your email about having a new Blog as a sculptor, I went to your web site. Seeing your picture and associating it with sculpture, your name rang a distant bell in my aging mind. I thought I remembered you sending me an email a few years ago, so I checked my Word documents and found a copy of the email you sent. Rereading it gave me a needed lift. It is very rewarding to be told I had a small influence in someone’s life and that he would take the time and effort to look me up and tell me so!
I will spend some time reading your Blog in the next few days to see what you are doing and saying.
Thanks again,
Gene Stewart

Great to hear from you Gene. I think you’ll see your name in a post in the near future. I’m thinking about the role that elders and masters of their craft can have on a novice. You sure played a big part in me discovering sculpture…. think I’ll write about that.

Scott, we’ve met twice through FAA…My husband and I were “bit” by Colorado 8 years ago…Our hearts are undeniably drawn there and we can no longer resist the call! We have also been inspired and encouraged by brave and focused people such as yourself! We are currently packing and moving in June to Woodland Park!

Scott, thanks very much for linking me to your blog. Had seen your website, but didn’t notice that you also had this beautiful and well-written and well-illustrated blog. It was great to see and talk with you in your studio, and now I will regularly follow your blog. God bless you as you continue to create art that really does tell stories for generations to come.
